Being not Doing..
Mindfulness, a specific way to bring attention to our awareness of all aspects of our life, both outward and inward. Like a mirror, reflecting without judgement but with compassion.
FAQs
Is Mindfulness a religious practice?
Mindfulness = Meditation?
Mindfulness and meditation are not the same, though they are closely related and often used together. Mindfulness is a state of being, a way of living that involves being present and aware of the moment, without judgment. Meditation, on the other hand, is a formal practice, a technique used to cultivate mindfulness.
I am a Muslim / Christian / Hindu…
Is Mindfulness is good for relaxation?
Is it a breathing exercise?
I heard you need to practice at least 30mins a day, I am a very busy mom and what if I don’t have that much time?
Mindfulness has been practiced for the past 40 years as a secular practice in spite of its origins in Eastern philosophy. Mindfulness is a specific way to cultivate present-moment awareness that can help us to cope with everyday life and during stressful times.
Mindfulness practices are generally not considered to be in conflict with religious belief. Mindfulness practices has even be seen as complementary to other faith practices. Mindfulness, in its essence, is about cultivating present-moment awareness and compassion, and these qualities can be found in various religious and secular traditions. Many religious traditions, including Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam, incorporate meditative or contemplative practices that align with mindfulness.
Mindfulness is not just about relaxation; it's also a tool for enhancing overall mental well-being, including focus, clarity, and emotional regulation. Mindfulness practices, like meditation, can help people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings in the present moment, which can reduce reactivity to stress and promote a sense of calm.
While mindfulness is not solely a breathing exercise, mindful breathing is a common and effective technique used within mindfulness practices.Mindfulness is about being aware of the present moment, including your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations, without judgment. Focusing on your breath is a simple way to anchor your attention in the present and can be a core component of mindfulness practice.
You don't necessarily need to set aside 30 minutes a day for mindfulness practice, although it can be beneficial. Mindfulness can be incorporated into your daily life in many small ways, even without formal meditation. While some of the dedicated practice sessions of 10-30 minutes are helpful, focusing on being present and aware during everyday activities can also cultivate mindfulness.
